Sonya Marlene Simon, devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020. She is survived by her beloved husband, Sanford Simon, M.D. Sonya was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Beatrice and Milton Zelinkoff. She had a twin sister, Sandra Rosenblum, who predeceased her.
Sonya attended Smith College where she obtained her undergraduate degree. She subsequently received her master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and resided in the Kansas City area at one time.
In addition to her husband Sanford, Sonya is survived by her daughter Evalyn Grossman (Phil), and her son John Simon M.D. (Armity M.D.) of Phoenix. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Graveside services were private and held at The Temple Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
