It is with great sadness that the family of Stuart G. Eisen of Kansas City, Missouri, announce that Stu passed away comfortably with his wife and daughter by his side on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, after putting up a hard-fought battle against COVID-19. Stu, born Feb. 12, 1947, is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Ellen; his beloved daughter, Lauren (Russ) Peloquin; his cherished grandchildren, Parker and Hailey; and older sister, Barbara, as well as many more loving friends and relatives who will all miss him very much. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bernice F. (Schwartz) and Morton L. Eisen.
Stu had a wonderful life growing up in Kansas City where he formed lifetime friendships attending Southwest High School, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and Parsons College in Iowa. Stu entered the insurance industry as a broker after the passing of his father. Most recently he was a broker with Assured Partners. Genuine care and concern, always wanting the best for others and possessing an unwavering optimistic attitude was who Stu was in all aspects of his life. Many will remember him as one of the nicest people they have ever known who genuinely took an interest in their lives. He loved to talk, share stories and reminiscence with others. But his wife, Ellen, will most remember him as her best friend, her rock, provider and her favorite person in the world to spend time with.
He loved all animals, and they in turn seemed to be drawn to him, whether it be stray dogs, cats, horses or even deer. He rescued many dogs with Ellen and shared a love of horseback riding with his daughter. Lauren will remember her dad as being the best dad a child could ever want. He was always there for her, always kind, calm and loving, a role model for how she wants to live her life and be the kind of parent to Parker and Hailey as he was to her.
The memories of “Papa Stu” that Parker and Hailey share will be of the love he showed them, patience and a weak spot for whenever they asked for one more push on the swing, or one more piece of candy or just more “cuddle time.” He was so proud of all his family and loved them more than anything else. That is the legacy he has left behind. The love, kindness, selflessness he showed, and his ability to always look at every situation with the positivity that things would turn around; always seeing the good. He approached all of life with that genuine outlook that is so rare.
