Shane Lawrence Naster

Shane Lawrence Naster passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 2, 2020, with his mother, Debbi; brothers, Milan and Kellen; sister, Paris; and “Pops” Tim by his side.

Shane was born on Sept. 24, 1987, a Sabbath Rosh Hashanah, two holy days in Judaism. His passing occurred at an exceptionally holy time of year as well, being the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

Shane’s entire life was challenged with a rare condition he was born with called McCune Albright Syndrome, and still, day after day, he lived life to the fullest. His disease caused his bones to deteriorate to a fibrous tissue and grow back “angry” after every severe break and micro-fracture that occurred. With the assistance of Drs. Brad Olney and Howard Rosenthal and their staff, Shane received kind, compassionate and excellent care as his disease progressed. There are many other doctors and staff, way too many to mention, and his family wishes to thank them for the great care he was given. This syndrome did not define Shane Naster. With gratitude, fervor and passion, he CHOSE LIFE!

Shane’s greatest joy was the people who embraced and allowed him to share his many passions. Rather than list everyone here, please join Shane’s family in celebrating his life.

Private graveside services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 16021 Grandview.

A celebration of Shane’s life is to be held at his home in the backyard with plenty of space to physically distance from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the Shane Naster Foundation at Community America to support his dreams of giving back.
