Deborah Faye Greenstein was born to Sol and Bella Fendelman of St. Louis, Mo., on June 22, 1943, and passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in Overland Park.

Deborah was married to Barry Greenstein of Kansas City, Mo., for nearly 49 years. She was active in her husband’s accounting firm for 13 years. She was a member of AMIT and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children’s Mercy Hospital. She generously opened up her heart and home to many people over the years who needed a place to stay. She has been a wonderful example of how to have a good life in spite of obstacles.

Deborah’s number one passion was her marriage, children and grandchildren.

Deborah was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Fendelman of St. Louis.

She is survived by her husband, Barry Greenstein; two children, Ronald Greg (Jodi) Greenstein of Chicago and Stacie Lynn Greenstein Scopo (Ralph Scopo); four grandchildren, Sarah Scopo (Travis)Traynor, and Jamie, Shelby and Michael Greenstein; sister-in-law, Anne Lesser; and brother-in-law, Jerry Greenstein.

The family suggests donations to the Diabetes Association of America.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 3, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, with burial at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery.
