Must Israel become racist? The article by Rabbi Mark Levin (March 26) starkly reveals the views of uber-left wing J Street, whose positions he advocates at every opportunity. They hurl the word “racist” indiscriminately, the idea being to cow into silence and force onto the defensive anyone who disagrees with them.

Both Jews and Arabs are Semites — members of the same race. The use of the word “racist” in this instance is, to say the minimum, inappropriate. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}But that is, perhaps, a mere quibble.

Far more importantly, is the truth racist? Netanyahu said that Arabs were being bussed to the polls in droves. The truth is, Arabs were being bussed to the polls in droves. Liberals in the United States were pouring millions into a shadowy entity called V-15, run by Obama surrogates, which, among other things, was using “community organizer” tactics to swell the Arab vote. In what way was it racist for Netanyahu to tell the plain truth, in order to let his adherents know how important it was to head to the polls themselves? Just when did it become forbidden to tell an indisputable truth?

It was also the plain truth when he said there would never be a Palestinian state under current conditions. How does one negotiate with an adversary that won’t even acknowledge your right to live?

J Street adherents never hear an Arab demand they aren’t willing to concede. They are far-leftists, and the left hates Israel. J Streeters are in a terrible bind. If they support Israel, they are ridiculed, defamed and ostracized. If they go along with their colleagues, they are lionized. “Look at him,” their colleagues say, “he’s a Jew, and look at the way he attacks Israel! This proves we’re right!” Pathetically, they bathe in the accolades of their comrades, while doing great harm to Israel far out of proportion to their numbers.{/mprestriction}
