GREAT HARVEST SECRET RECIPE — I was never blessed with the gene that allows a person to bake a scrumptious challah. We were chatting and I learned that the challah recipe they use was given to the bakery’s previous owners by Linda and Craig Salvay. The bakery can make customized orders, which can include golden raisins or poppy seeds. Challah can be braided, round or pulled apart as rolls based upon customer preferences. HOLLUB SEES NO-HITTER — We got a “news tip” on Monday morning that lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and longtime Royal Lancer Elliott Hollub saw his first no-hitter Sunday night while attending the Cubs-Dodgers game in Los Angeles. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}That’s when Jake Arrieta threw a no-hitter as the Cubs defeated the Dodgers 2-0. Hollub has seen thousands of professional baseball games, but never a no-hitter. He attended the game with his wife, Kathy, and their granddaughter, Samantha “Sam” Kaplan, who provided us with the photo above. Besides witnessing the no-hitter, it was his first time at Dodger Stadium. Now he only has six other Major League Baseball stadiums to visit and still would love to see his Chicago Cubs, the team he grew up watching, win a World Series. We hope if the Cubs ever do win a World Series, it isn’t at the expense of our beloved Royals!{/mprestriction}
