“This year is an opportunity to dig in deep to the text of the Haggadah, and see it with new eyes,” said Rabbi David Glickman. “The story of the Jewish people’s Exodus from Egypt may be the most influential story in the history of mankind. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}It has served as the foundation stone for countless liberation movements throughout history. This year’s second Seder will give us the chance to dig deeper into the text of the Haggadah, and find new meanings in ancient rituals. By this taking place on Saturday night the structure will be a little different than the previous two years and we will be able to celebrate Havdalah together as well.”

The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a Seudah Shlishit (the third meal of the Sabbat day) and will include family oriented as well as adult pre-seder activities and appetizers. Both adult and child-specific activities will be offered during this time. A communal Kiddush and Havdalah will begin at 8:30 p.m. and will be followed by an abbreviated, song and discussion filled traditional seder with ritual foods and a festive dinner. Families are welcome, but child-specific activities will not be offered during the communal Kiddush, Havdalah and traditional seder. Attendees will have the option of remaining for the entire evening, or signing up to attend the Seudah Shlishit and seder and departing before dinner is served.

The seder will be led by Rabbis David Glickman, Scott White, Rabbi Alexandria Shuval-Weiner and Hazzan Tahl Ben Yehuda. A traditional kosher-for-Passover Seder meal will be prepared under supervision of the Vaad Hakashrut of Kansas City and served under the supervision of Rabbi David Glickman, Congregation Beth Shalom.
