Ester Sirota, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services were set to take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at The Louis Memorial Chapel; with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Heritage Center at the Jewish Community Center.

 

She was born June 17, 1929, in the Ukraine, the daughter of Gersh and Haya Rubchinskiy. 

Mrs. Sirota was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She really loved her husband and her family.

Mrs. Sirota faithfully followed her husband, who was in the Air Force, for 25 years.

She worked as a nurse at various Air Force bases, helping many servicemen, also for 25 years.

Mrs. Sirota enjoyed family gatherings and celebrating all special events with her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Yankel Sirota.

Mrs. Sirota is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lara and Boris Usherenko and Frida and Edward Rubchinskiy, all of Overland Park; her brothers and sister-in-law: Anatoly and Tatyana Rubchinskiy, Overland Park, and Simon Rubchinskiy, Kiev Ukraine; her grandchildren: Irina Usherenko, Aleksandr Usherenko, Slava Rubchinskiy and Marina Lisker and six great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her loving family.
