Bill Fairman, 92, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Bill was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Abraham and Sara Fairman and was a lifelong area resident.

He joined the U.S. Navy after high school and served his country until 1946. From 1952 to 1982 he worked for Armco Steel, and retired as an inspector. His hobbies included leather goods, movies, making friends and laughter.

He married Beatrice “Bea” Miller Fairman, in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1983. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his daughter Betsy (Scott) Forbes of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and a granddaughter, Brianna (David) Farmer.

Bill will be greatly missed by his loving family.
