Abe Edward Carr

Abe Edward Carr, 89, passed away Sept. 18, 2016. “Eddie” was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Jan. 7, 1926. The family moved to Kansas City in 1930. He graduated from Paseo High School, and joined the U.S. Naval Air Force in 1944. He attended the University of Missouri for one year, then transferred to the Kansas City Art Institute.

 

After his marriage to Bonnie Jean Burton in 1960, they moved to Los Angeles, California, where Eddie became a Hollywood agent for several years. He furthered his career in the insurance profession. He had a charismatic personality and was loved by all.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Carr; his sister Betty (Herman) Grund, Des Moines, Iowa; and infants Adam Douglas Carr and Rebecca Carr.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Bonnie; son Steve (Kathleen) Carr; grandchildren Amanda Carr and Ryan Carr, all of Woodland Hills, California; sister Shirley Passman, Prairie Village, Kansas, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Village Shalom.
