She was born May 3, 1930, the daughter of Gussie and Louis Shefrin. She was full of life and celebrated to the max. Jackie never missed a friend’s birthday or anniversary. There was always a celebration or a loved one to acknowledge. For her family, it was always a very special dinner at their favorite restaurant, flowers on the table, our favorite Chantilly cake and a personal gift because her generosity was her pleasure. Jackie loved giving to others, her thoughtfulness was her signature. She was always doing for others, if a friend was ill she was the first one there with dinner. Jackie never forgot anyone that touched her life. She was incredibly creative and her passion was her extraordinary garden. Jackie and Bob would work in their garden and Koi pond for hours, it was their happy place they were so proud of it.

Jackie was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and its Sisterhood, B’nai Brith, Hadassah, TMC Behavioral Health, Shakespeare in the Park, Kansas City Jazz Orchestra and the Quality Hill Playhouse.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Elice Gershon; her parents Gussie and Louis Shefrin and her sister Thelma Dworkin.
