'Lonesome' Bill Fields

Lonesome Bill Fields, age 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Friday, April 22, 2016. Bill was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Sedona, Arizona, to the late W.C. and the late Betty (Schumacher) Fields. His family ran Wild West shows.

 

As a teenager, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. After high school, Bill served and was retired from the Navy. He then had a career in painting; first with his family’s business, then with his own business as a painting contractor.

After moving to Las Vegas in 1991, Bill worked for American West Homes. He was a member of the Orchid Society and the West Flamingo Senior Center. He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, antique cars and travel.

Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Fields (Nee: Krueger); children Donna (Mark) Wells of Atlanta, Georgia, and Julie Weinberg of Potomac, Maryland; Siblings Darlene Turner of Winslow, Arizona, Ronnie Fields of Kansas City, Missouri, Michael Fields of Kansas City, Pegi Fields of Kansas City; grandchildren Issac Weinberg and Emma Weinberg of Potomac; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was loved by all and will be sorely missed. Bill is predeceased by his brother Carl Fields.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 30, followed by a funeral service, both at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services in Las Vegas.
