Marcia Lee (Lerner) Horwitz, 79, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Aug. 28, 2015. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at The Louis Memorial Chapel; interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Marcia was born Dec. 12, 1935, and was a graduate of Paseo High School. She was born to be a caregiver. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}The needs of friends, family and especially her loving husband Norman “Bob” Horwitz, were always considered before her own. Her love extended to helping immigrating Russian Jews assimilate into their new life in the Kansas City area. Marcia stayed busy. She loved to sew and spent many days at Lake Perry sailing with Bob and their children Sherri, Kim and Jeff.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Tillie Lerner; her sister, Rene and her husband Herbie Schwartz; her son-in-law, Max Komet and her grandson, Zachariah Komet . . .  aleichem hashalom.

Marcia leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Norman “Bob” Horwitz; her daughters, Sherri (Arnold) Hermanson and Kim Komet; her son, Jeff (partner-Juan Carlos Fernandez) Horwitz and her brother, Gary (Marie) Lerner. Marcia also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Daniel (Anna) Hermanson, Nathan (fiancé-Jaimi Elkins) Hermanson, Gavriella (fiancé-Tom Kreft) Komet and Katriel Komet.

The world will not be the same without her loving kindness and caring. Marcia will be missed but remain in our minds and hearts forever.
