Stanley Seligson

Stanley Seligson, 78, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away June 3, 2015. At the request of the deceased no funeral will be held.

Stanley was born in Kansas City in 1937 and lived in the Kansas City area his entire life. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1955 and the University of Missouri (Columbia) in 1960. While at MU, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. As No. 1 graduate in his business school class, he was awarded the Delta Sigma Pi (business school professional fraternity) gold key and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.

 

Stanley was a Certified Public Accountant, and he was formerly a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}He spent his work life employed in the accounting and financial fields with four local companies, the last of which was an advertising agency. He enjoyed his years in the ad business immensely. 

While his children were young, Stan was a dedicated coach in Johnson County 3&2 Baseball, where he also served as an area director for several years.

Quick to laugh at his own quirks, he had many, and he was a strong believer in “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Patty Seligson; his parents, Jack and Sylvia (Seligson) Cintz of San Jose, California; his sister Phyllis Meyer, also of San Jose.

He is survived by his fiancée and dearly beloved, Charyl Rubin of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Seligson and Sharon Adler of Sebastopol, California, and Michael and Lori Seligson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Sandy and Jamie Kenslow and stepson Scott Wright of Platte City, Missouri. Additional survivors are grandchildren Bailey Wyckoff of Overland Park, Jake Kenslow and Justin Kenslow of Parkville, Missouri, Hazel Seligson and Iris Seligson of Sebastopol, and Sophia Seligson of Albuquerque.{/mprestriction}
