Shirley Epsten, a lifelong area resident, passed away April 8, 2015. Funeral services were held April 9 at The Louis Memorial Chapel; interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be to a charity of the donor’s choice. 

 

Shirley was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Kansas City, Missour., to Frank and Flora (Himmelstein) Levin. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}She attended Kansas City schools graduating from Paseo High School and was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom. Shirley enjoyed her various part-time jobs where everyone she worked with valued her friendship. She had a loving and caring personality and made her family her most important emphasis. Shirley will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many friends. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Bernard Kantor. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Irving Epsten, of the home; her daughters, Carla (Stephen) Max of Overland Park, Kansas, Lynn (Michael) Parks of Galveston, Texas, Sandy (Scott) Enge of Olathe, Kansas; her brothers, Alvin (Barbara) Levin of Bend, Oregon, Lawrence (Meta) Levin of Highland Park, Illinois, Buddy (Sharon) Levin of Overland Park; grandchildren, Elyse Max (Chris) Hutchings, Joshua (Jinny) Max, Bernard (Di) Parks, Erica Enge and fiancé Ryan Courtney, Arin Enge and fiancé Whitney Rivest; great-grandchildren, Maya Max, Estella and Emma Hutchings, Reagan Parks and many nieces and nephews.
