Marjorie Charlotte Bercu, 93, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away April 4, 2015, at The Atriums. Funeral services were held Monday, April 6, at Louis Memorial Chapel; interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Helen Galamba Arthritis and Cancer Fund, c/o The Temple Congregation B’nai Jehudah. 

 

Marjorie was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Samuel and Helen (Fogel) Galamba. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}She graduated from Southwest High School in 1937 and went to the University of Missouri for two years. Marjorie was a homemaker while working with her husband Archie Bercu at Lan-Mar Sporting Goods, the family business, until 1988. She was an active member of The Temple Congregation B’nai Jehudah; a past member of AE Phi sorority at University of Missouri, National Council of Jewish Women, Friends of the Zoo, Menorah Auxiliary and a lifetime member of Hadassah. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Bercu, and brother, Elmer Galamba. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Robert) Bloch of Mission Hills, Kansas, Patricia (Jim) Norris, of Clayton, Missouri, and four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jennifer Pack, Taylor and Megan Klugman.
