Cary J. Lieberman, 73, passed away March 5, 2015. Funeral services were held March 8 at Louis Memorial Chapel; burial followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the Beagle Freedom Project.
Cary was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Topeka, Kansas.{mprestriction ids="1,3"}He moved to Kansas City in 1947. Cary attended Southwest High School and Denver University. He was a member of B’nai B’rith and Congregation Beth Shalom. Cary was the owner of Cary Built Homes, a homebuilding and remodeling business.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Lillian Lieberman and in-laws Charlotte and Isadore Shafton.
Cary is survived by his wife Sherry Shafton Lieberman of 49 years; his children, Jeffrey Lieberman of Oceanside, California, and Mindy Allen Wright of Valley Village, California; grandson Hutton Wright of Valley Village; brother and wife Mickey and Carla Lieberman of Overland Park, sister and husband Vicki and Richard Helfand of Leawood; brother-in-law Joel Shafton of Olathe, and sister-in-law Andrea Duarte Rambo.
