Leon Bloomberg, 94, passed away Oct. 6, 2014, in Luthersville, Md., a suburb of Baltimore. The funeral was held Oct. 8 at Sol Levinson & Bros., Inc. in Pikesville, Md.; burial at Anshe Emunah Aitz Chaim Cemetery in Arbutus, Md.

{mprestriction ids="1"}Mr. Bloomberg was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Northeast High School in 1937. He moved to the Baltimore area in November of 1940. Over the years he earned five degrees in aeronautical engineering and did consulting work for all the major aircraft manufacturers. He was based in Baltimore his entire life.

Mr. Bloomberg was the beloved husband of the late Esther S. Bloomberg (nee Levin); devoted father of Jaclyn (Irwin) Cohen and Robert G. Bloomberg; loving brother of Isadore (Izzy) Bloomberg, formerly of Kansas City; beloved brother-in-law of Ruth Levin, Ruth Levin, and the late Jerry Levin and Leon Levin; cherished grandfather of Benjamin Cohen, Daniel Cohen, Joshua (Marci and the late Robyn) Cohen, Deborah (Gregory) Bensinger, Drew Bloomberg, and Carly Bloomberg; adored great-grandfather of Allie and Jeremy Cohen, Maya, Zoe, and Max Cohen, Adam and Michael Levi Bensinger. He is also survived by cousin Michael Wainstock of Kansas City, Mo.
