Barbara Bresel, 72, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at her home. Funeral services were expected to take place Wednesday, Oct. 8, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Barbara was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Isadore E. and Rachel (Shukster) Epstein and was a lifelong area resident.
She attended Kansas City schools, was a graduate of Southwest High School and then attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo.
Barbara was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom for over 30 years, was a life member of Hadassah and was a former member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue, where she and her husband were married.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her main focus.
Barbara was very devoted to the care of her husband of 54 years, Norman.
She was an excellent cook who adored having family over on special days, and loved to watch "Dancing with the Stars."
Many lifelong friends, along with her family, will miss her greatly.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Norman L. Bresel, of the home; her son, Scott Bresel, Overland Park, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Rob Katz, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law Stanton and Janie Epstein, Prairie Village, Kan.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Deanna and Stanley Martasin, Overland Park, Kan.; former son-in-law: Steve Horak, Denver, Colo.; grandchildren Joseph Horak, Chicago, Ill., Meirav Horak, Denver, Colo., Elisheva Horak, Hollywood, Fla., and Breanna Bresel, Overland Park, Kan.
