Kapustin, Moysey

Moysey Kapustin, 89, of Overland Park, passed away at Manor Care of Overland Park on Monday, Sept, 29, 2014.

{mprestriction ids="1"}Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, in the chapel at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery, followed by burial. The family suggests contributions to Manor Care of Overland Park or The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City.

Moysey and his late wife, Lyubov, moved from the Ukraine to Kansas City in 1989 to be with family. He was a very intelligent and creative person. He was an inventor who developed a special machine to cut granite and marble. Moysey loved sports, especially soccer and fishing. He enjoyed a lively debate about politics and playing chess with his son and other family members. He was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue from the time he moved to Kansas City.

Moysey was preceded in death by his parents, Meer and Perla Kapustin; his wife of 59 years, Lyubov Kapustin; and his brother, Roman Kapustin.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dmitry and Svetlana Kapustin, Overland Park; daughter and son-in-law, Tatyana and Joseph Shuklaper, Lenexa; grandchildren, Julia Karasev (Alexey), Adena Kapustin, Renata Shuklaper; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Eli Karasev; and niece, Almira Kapustin.

Moysey was a gentle soul who was very kind and had an immense love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
