Abraham B. Rosenberg, 93, of Overland Park, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Village Shalom.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 12, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice.

Abe was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Herman and Elsie (Bruk) Rosenberg and was a graduate of the University of Iowa.

He served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Abe spent most of his professional life as manager of National Compressed Steel Corporation and worked for them from 1954 until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of Temple Israel and the Oakwood County Club, was an avid sports fan and golfer and was a Master Bridge player.

Abe and his wife Marilyn had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lynne Ferguson; a son, James Rosenberg; and a brother, Jay Rosenberg.

Abe is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Rosenberg; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Juli Rosenberg, Overland Park; and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Mackenzie Rosenberg and Cameron Rosenberg.
