Andrea Elyachar of Overland Park and David Elyachar of Shawnee announce the engagement of their son, Joseph Daniel Elyachar, to Rachel Edith Goldman, daughter of Larry and Natalie Goldman of St. Louis, Missouri, and Karen Karty and Jim Blessing, also of St. Louis.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Daniel Karty and the late Frances Karty, the late Ann and the late Al Haffner, and the late David Goldman. She attended Auburn University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, earning a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction. She is currently an art teacher at Blue Valley North High School.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Daniel Elyachar and Pat Sylvia, and the late Leonard L. and the late Beatrice P. Katz. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Arizona and is general manager of Big Bob’s Flooring Outlet in Overland Park.
An Oct. 15 wedding at The Hilton President Hotel is planned.
