Johnette and Shelden Zimmerman of Overland Park, Kansas, announce the engagement of their son, Andrew Paul Zimmerman, to Laurel Ann Marselle, daughter of Ellen and Ralph Buikema of Sun City West, Arizona, and Jim Marselle and Jayme Nicholas of Chicago, Illinois.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Raymond and the late Mary Marselle and the late Neil and Betty Lucey. She attended Northern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. She is the producer for “Better Kansas City” at KCTV 5.
The future groom is the grandson of Margaret and the late John Miller and the late Daniel and Adele Zimmerman. He attended Indiana University-Bloomington, where he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications.
He is a multi-media journalist at KCTV 5, where he is also shop steward for the station’s SAG/AFTRA chapter and serves as vice president SAG/AFTRA Missouri Valley Local region.
An Aug. 20 wedding in Chicago is planned.
