Elise Bruce-Bush and Carl Bush III of Louisburg, Kansas, and Robert and Phyliss Bruce of Kansas City, Missouri, announce the engagement of their son, Corey Blake Bruce, to Rebecca Erin Kalla, daughter of Barbara and David Kalla of Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Stanley Makoroff and the Late Susan Makoroff and Stanford Kalla and the late Skippy Kalla of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She attended Ohio University and Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, where she earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Health Science degrees and was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She is a physician assistant at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
The future groom is the grandson of Beverly and Harris Lee of Overland Park, Kansas; Jean and Harold Bruce of Kansas City, Missouri; Jeanette Bush of Glendale, California; the late Carl Bush Sr. of Glendale; and the late Arlene Bush of Fresno, California.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Kansas, where he was a member Phi Kappa Si fraternity. He also played on ice hockey travel teams throughout his school years. He is employed by North American Real estate in Chicago.
A Sept. 17 wedding is planned at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
