Jewish Family Services is hosting a workshop, Community Conversations: Aging Parents, on Tuesday, July 11, from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

The program will take place in the Heritage Center meeting room at the Jewish Community Campus, 5801 W. 115th Street in Overland Park. This free workshop is open to the entire community.

This workshop is designed to educate and support adult children on how to prepare for and assist parents in the next stages of life. Experts in older care management, legal and therapeutic areas will share their knowledge.

Those attending will learn the steps to prepare for their parents’ transitions, ensuring they feel supported, protected and educated. They will also get strategies to make this process easier and learn what options are available.

“We are filling a need in the community to support adult children in making sure they’re equipped and ready to understand and protect their parents’ older years,” said Jodi Perelmuter, JFS Family Life Educator.
