The Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) offers several gift options to empower young adults to make a substantive philanthropic impact on their favorite charitable causes.

A popular option is a JCF Donor Advised Fund (DAF), also known as a charitable giving account. DAFs provide a flexible and tax-efficient way to support the Jewish and secular charitable causes of the fundholders’ choice. DAFs can be established for $5,000 or more ($2,500 for those under age 35). A DAF can teach the value of giving to young adults who are just starting their charitable journeys. By giving the means and a vehicle to support causes they care about, the giver can instill the importance of philanthropy and foster community engagement. JCF also offers a matching donation promotion for new fundholders, which allows the recipient to make an even greater impact on the causes they care about most.

“Each contribution to the Foundation is exciting when we think of the future impact it may generate,” said JCF Director of Philanthropy Josh Stein. “Perhaps none are more inspiring than when people use charitable contributions as a way of honoring special occasions and doing so in a manner that empowers the recipient to experience the joy of giving and determining the cause or causes that they wish to support.”

Another gift option is a membership to J-LEAD, JCF’s giving circle for adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. By participating, recipients have the opportunity to make a difference in the community and connect with other young adults who share their values. Annual membership costs $500 per individual or couple, which is pooled with donations from other members for maximum impact. Members meet to learn about community needs, make grant decisions, and participate in various social and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Lastly, JCF offers its current DAF-holders the opportunity to purchase charitable gift cards which may be redeemed for a donation to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of the recipient’s choice.
