Donate packages of toilet paper and enjoy free popcorn and a fun evening at Theatre in the Park (TIP) during the new musical “Half Time-Gotta Dance” July 16-18 and July 21-24.

TIP is teaming up with Jewish Family Services to help with its Summer “WipeOut” campaign, securing toilet paper for its food pantry. Each month, more than 2,700 rolls of toilet paper are distributed to the 900 families the JFS food pantry serves from its two locations. Toilet paper and other personal hygiene products are not covered by government assistance.

“We’re excited to team up with our friends at Theatre in the Park and encourage theatre-goers to bring along toilet paper as they enjoy a night of entertainment under the stars,” said Jo Hickey, JFS food pantry director.

About “Half Time-Gotta Dance”

Based on the documentary “Gotta Dance” by Broadway producer Dori Berinstein, “Half Time-Gotta Dance” is the incredible true story of nine determined dreamers who audition to dance at halftime for a major basketball team. They have three things in common: they love to dance, they have something to prove, and they are all over 50 years-old!

Only after making the cut, do nine “older” dancers learn they won’t be dancing tap, salsa or swing—instead, they will bring down the house with a style that is entirely new to them: hip-hop!

Along the way through mentorship and friendship they battle self-doubt, stereotypes and even each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20,000 screaming fans. Together they remind us that in life, when the odds are stacked against you and the challenges seem too great to overcome, it’s not the end of the game.
