Applications are now open for Leadership Tomorrow, Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City’s paid summer internship program.

Leadership Tomorrow immerses exceptional Jewish college students in Kansas City’s non-profit community. Internships in top-rated organizations are designed to provide learning opportunities and position students for future success.

Interns can earn up to $3,300 working in a variety of fields, including fundraising, public affairs, strategic planning, project management and more.

Leadership Tomorrow offers students the opportunity to:

  • Network with other Jewish college students
  • Receive 1-on-1 mentoring from community leaders and professionals
  • Gain valuable, real-world work experience

In addition to their internship placements, the interns will work in groups to research, construct and present a grant proposal for a selected Kansas City non-profit. Last year, generous donors provided $15,000 to be distributed to the three selected non-profits; the amount of money received by each was influenced by the quality of the presentations.

“I’ve been helping lead this program for the last two years, and it is amazing to see the how much these students grow in nine short weeks,” said Leah Mueth, Federation’s Engagement associate. “They are doing great work for our community.”

Leadership Tomorrow was founded in 2013 by a group led by Irv Robinson to expose students to different ideas around entrepreneurship, leadership, and philanthropy, and to encourage strong Jewish leadership in future generations.

To date, there have been 74 students and more than 25,000 hours of work provided to the community across 37 different nonprofits. The program has awarded $92,000 in grants to 17 area nonprofits.
