Ohev Sholom honored Bobbie and Mark Litchman as Kallat Torah and Hatan Bereshit, respectively, this year.

Ohev Sholom rejoiced with the Torah on Sunday, Oct. 11, virtually via Zoom. Everyone enjoyed their own Hakafot dancing. Ohev children received gifts for the High Holidays this year including their own Torah to march with at their homes.

During services Bobbie Litchman was honored as Kallat Torah and Mark Litchman as Hatan Bereshit.

The Litchmans have been married for 54 years and have been active members of Congregation Ohev Sholom for 44 years — true commitment to each other and to Ohev Sholom.

Bobbi has served as sunshine committee chair and program co-chair for Ohev Sholom’s Sisterhood. She assisted in meal preparation for lunches and dinners at Ohev and enjoyed the camaraderie of helping make hamantaschen for Ohev’s Sisterhood Fundraiser. Bobbi’s interests outside of Ohev Sholom include listening to and attending operas and world travel.

Mark has served on numerous Ohev Sholom committees, including: usher committee chair; security committee; worship committee; social committee; social action committee; board of directors member for 39 years; and executive committee member for 10 years. Mark enjoys world travel, he is a member of the American Meteorological Society, has played tennis at club level for the past 30 years, is a member of Sericom (a computer users group) and has been a volunteer at Menorah Medical Center’s surgery waiting room for 10 years.

Although Ohev is unable at this time to enjoy a special Kiddush to honor Bobbi and Mark, there will be a celebration in their honor in the future.
