Lily Payne, daughter of Laura and Elliot Payne, will become a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Aug. 19, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.
Lily, who will be an eighth grade student at Indian Hills Middle School this fall, runs on her school’s cross country team, enjoys competitive horseback riding and is in her 11th year of dance. Other passions include acting, singing, reading and writing poetry. She was a madrichol-in-training at B’nai Jehudah last year and a junior counselor for the Musical Theatre Heritage camps in Kansas City, Missouri.
For her mitzvah project, Lily secured donations to create and deliver “Happy Kits” to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
