Bret and Krista Gordon announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Joshua Gordon, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Congregation Beth Torah in Overland Park.
Josh is the grandson of Sheila and Daniel Karpin, Stephen and Jean Gordon, Terri Schaeffer and Dennis and Pam Markway. He has two siblings: Sarah and Caroline Gordon.
Relatives and friends are invited to worship with the family and to attend the Kiddush following the service.
Josh enjoys playing and watching baseball, science and math competitions, snow skiing and learning about the world through reading and travel with his family.
For his Mitzvah project, Josh focused on supporting refugees. He collected gifts for children for the JVS annual refugee birthday party. He helped set up the party area and played games with the kids. Josh will also make a donation to his cause of supporting refugees in the Kansas City area.
