Edward Lawrence Rosenthal, 60, Overland Park, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Graveside services were held Sunday, April 1, at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Eddie was born April 8, 1951, to Nathan and Gertrude Rosenthal. He was a lifelong Kansas City area resident, graduating from Southwest High School. He attended Emporia State College and DeVry Institute of Technology, graduating with a computer science degree. He worked for Whole Foods and HyVee and in the IT department at various companies over a 15-year period. Eddie was a former member of Congregation Beth Shalom and the Jewish Community Center. Eddie especially loved his extended family. His hobby was anything related to electronics and he enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eddie is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Ellen Rosenthal, Hamden, Conn.; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Larry Laycob, Castle Rock, Colo.; nephews and their wives, Seth Rosenthal and Diane Purvin, Jordon and Kim Laycob, and Justin Laycob; great niece, Liliana Rosenthal; and great-nephews, Tanner and Connor Laycob.
