Lillian (Lil) Jeanette Simon, 85, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully Monday, March 26, 2012.

Lil is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Donna Simon, Overland Park; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Chris Hearne, Georgetown, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Shirley Unell, Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Sherman Unell, Santa Cruz, Calif.; grandchildren and their spouses, Andrew Simon, Indianapolis, Krista and Andrew Martin, Shawnee, and Cotter McClinton, Georgetown.

Lil grew up in Kansas City where she graduated from Westport High School. She moved to Joplin in 1961 before returning to Kansas City in 1979.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anita Unell, and her husband of 54 years, J.B. (Doc) Simon.

Friends and family will miss her generosity, her ready laugh and the treats she loved baking for others.

In lieu of a service, Lil requested we all make a toast in her honor.
