Pollock, Sam

Sam Pollock, 100, of Jerusalem, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17.

Funeral and burial took place that day on Har HaZeitim — Mount of Olives — in Jerusalem.

Mr. Pollock was born in Knyshyn, Poland, and came to the United States shortly after World War I. He originally lived in St. Joseph and moved to Kansas City in about 1940, where he resided until he and his wife made aliyah in 1993. He was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Kansas City and Lev Sameach Synagogue in Jerusalem.

Mr. Pollock is survived by Lillian, his wife of 67 years; , his son and his wife, Rabbi Chaim Irwin and Pamela Pollock; granchildren and their spouses Rabbi Avidan and Sara Pollock, Chana and Rabbi Shlomo Novack, Rabbi Yisroel and Faigy Pollock, Rivka Pollock and Moshe Pollock; and great-grandchildren, Shraga, Aryeh, Mordechai, Rochel, Yehudit, Eliezer, Yehonatan, Tova, Yehoshua, Devorah, Chaya, Pinchos, Yehuda, Avigayil, Simcha, Malka, Chana and Zvi, all of Israel.
