Rittmaster, Jean

Jean Rittmaster, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 14, at her home at Village Shalom in Overland Park.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 16, at Congregation Beth Torah, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, The American Heart Association, Village Shalom or Congregation Beth Torah.

Jean was born in Kansas City, Mo., to Max and Gertrude Klinock on May 10, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond L. Rittmaster; sister, Rae Katcher; and brothers, Irving C. Klinock and Dr. Harry K. Cohen. She was a member of Congregation Beth Torah. Jean retired in 1981 after a long career with the United States Social Security Administration.

Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Marcia Rittmaster of Overland Park; daughter and son-in-law, Martie and Robert Kramer, Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Aaron and Miriam Rittmaster, Overland Park, Corey Rittmaster and Mo- nique  Madrid,  Chicago, Matthew  and Sarah Rittmaster, Raymore, Mo., and Greg Kramer, Plano. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Rylei, Mikaela, Samantha, Jonathan and Ella.
