Preceded in death by his wife, Lila, in 1981, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kent and Frances Bosworth of Charleston, S.C. Roberts was born in Lublin, Poland, in 1922. He escaped the invading Nazis in 1939, crossing the border to serve in the Russian army for the duration of the war. Following the war, Roberts lived in Germany, in Paris and Havana, before immigrating to America in 1950. Moving to Kansas City, Mo., he met and married Lila, a survivor of Auschwitz concentration camp, in 1952. He founded the Roberts Upholstered Furniture Co., which he retired from following his wife’s death in 1981. In 1984 Roberts relocated to Los Angeles, then Boca Raton, Fla., before settling in Las Vegas. He leaves behind many close friends in Las Vegas and Kansas City and Lila’s cousin, Minnie Hauser, in Kansas City. His family asks that contributions be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
