Goldman, Marsha

Marsha Goldman, 84, died Friday, Nov. 6, after a life well lived.

Born in Dubienka, Poland, on Jan. 20, 1925, she immigrated to the United States in 1938, later graduating with honors from Central High School.

She married Jules Goldman on June 30, 1946, a love affair that continued for 62 years until Jules’ death in 2008. Marsha was blessed with three children and their spouses, Barry and Madeline Goldman, Joel and Hildy Goldman and Susan and Tom Tivol, and six grandchildren, Aaron Goldman, Daniel Goldman, Michele Goldman, Josh Goldman, Elise Goldman and Jacob Tivol. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Harold Tivol; her brother, Mel Abend; and her sister-in-law, Rosalyn Jaffe; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marsha spent her life making a difference for her family and community. She was active in the Panel of American Women, Jewish Federation, the Nelson Art Gallery and many other civic organizations.

She enjoyed a 25-year career in residential real estate sales, revolutionizing the sales position. Often named the salesperson of the year during a career that began with the J.C. Nichols Co. and continued with Reece-Nichols and Prudential Kansas City, she set sales records while mentoring and inspiring new agents. More than that, she made friends throughout the city and helped many people realize their dreams, finding them the house that was perfect for them.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted friend. May her memory be a blessing.

Services were held at The Louis Memorial Chapel on Sunday, Nov. 8. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family is grateful for the kind, compassionate and loving care provided to Marsha by Kansas City Hospice Care and Village Shalom and suggests contributions to both in her memory.
