Hill, Susan Finestone

Susan Finestone Hill, 66, died July 9, at an assisted living residence in Dallas.

Susan was born Aug. 11, 1942, in New York City. She moved with her parents, Alfred and Pauline Finestone, and her older brothers, Don Finestone and Robert Finestone, to Los Angeles in1946. She graduated from Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and was active there in Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters. She worked in Los Angeles before moving to Las Vegas, and later moved to Dallas with her second husband, Robert Hill Jr. He preceded her in death, as did her parents and brothers.

Susan loved her late dog, Sunshine Lady, and was a passionate fan of Barry Manilow. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Morris and Shani Finestone, Thousand Oaks, Calif., Justin and Margaret Finestone, Bend, Ore., Jessica and John Wilson, Watkinsville, Ga., Linda Finestone and Richard Banks, Van Nuys, Calif., and David and Martha Finestone, Oxnard, Calif.; and her great-nieces and great-nephews. Morris was Susan’s trusted guardian for the last few years. She also is survived by her Feingold family cousins in Kansas City.

Services and interment were held Monday, July 13, at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Finestone Family Library Fund at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Dr., Thousand Oaks, Calif. 91362.
