Cohen, Sanford Martin

Sanford M. Cohen, 77, of Leawood, passed away Friday, June 26, at Kansas City Hospice House.

Graveside services were held Sunday, June 28, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Rabbi Arthur Nemitoff’s Discretionary Fund, c/o The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, 12320 Nall, Overland Park, KS 66209 or Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.

Mr. Cohen was a partner in Cohen-Baxter Insurance Agency in Kansas City, Kan., for many years. He then worked for the Morino & Company Insurance Agency.

He was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Mr. Cohen was a U.S. Army Veteran serving stateside after World War II.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Towerman, and a brother, Bernard Cohen.

Mr. Cohen is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kittie Cohen, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Hillary Cohen, Reistertown, Md.; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Richard Rubin, Phoenix; son-in-law: Craig Towerman, Chesterfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Lauren and Jill Towerman, Chesterfield, Mo., and Taylor and Travis Cohen, Reistertown.

He enjoyed his life as a husband, father and especially as a grandfather.

Mr. Cohen was a loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
