Plesser, Robert

Robert Plesser, 74, passed away on June 9 in El Cajon, Calif., after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services were held Thursday, June 11, at Singing Hills Memorial Park in El Cajon.

Bob was born on April 2, 1935, in New York City. He was the son of Harry and Sally Plesser. His family relocated to Kansas City, Mo., in January 1949. After his service in the Navy, Bob remained in San Diego.

Bob had an engaging personality and quick wit. His greatest passions were his love for his family and for the game of golf. He was dearly loved by his family and many friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Harry Plesser, his mother, Sally Plesser, and his nephew, Joseph Plesser. He is survived by his five children, Jeffrey Plesser and companion, Steve, Steven and Janet Plesser, Paula and Keith Green and David Plesser, all of the San Diego area, and Diane and Jess Smith of Lakeville, Minn.; six grandchildren, Brittney and Alyssa Plesser, Madison and Mayson Green and Rachel and Riley Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Carole Plesser of Prairie Village; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Allen Wolf, Schererville, Ind.; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert spent many years as a volunteer, encouraging people who had been diagnosed with different forms of cancer. To honor his memory, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or to an organization of one’s choice.
