Sorkin-Schlager engagement

Svetlana and Roman Sorkin of Olathe announce the engagement of their daughter, Hanna Sorkin, to Shamshy Schlager, son of Leah and Dr. Herbert Schlager of New York.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Rita and Josef Weiner and the late Masha and Abram Sorkin. She attends Stern College of Yeshiva University in New York, studying speech pathology and audiology.

The future groom is the grandson of Alexander and Adele Wirtheimer and the late Samson and Jenny Schlager. He is attending C.W. Post University of New York, studying toward a doctorate in clinical psychology.

A Sept. 6 wedding at Kehilath Israel Synagogue is planned.
