Litvak-Riss engagement

Bill and Debbie Riss of Weddington, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lin Riss, to James Lewis Litvak, son of Lisa Lerman and Michael and Judy Litvak.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Goldie Riss and the late Harold Riss and Mary and Lonnie Wood. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, earning a master’s degree in teacher education in deaf and hard of hearing. She is a Kadima/USY youth group adviser at Temple Israel in Charlotte, N.C., and an ARC of Mecklenburg County board member. She is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System in Charlotte.

The future groom is the grandson of Lillian Lerman and Ruth and Norem Litvak. He attended Seneca College in Toronto, earning a degree in fire protection engineering technology. He is currently employed as a design engineer with Quality Sprinkler System, Inc., in Charlotte.

A Feb. 21 wedding is planned at Temple Israel in Charlotte.
