Congratulations to the men and women who have led and given to the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City from its establishment 50 years ago until today, when it stands as our community’s most important financial institution and a source of innumerable good works.

Those who gather in the Bloch Building at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art next Sunday to celebrate this golden anniversary can feel good about the work of JCF over the decades.

In recent years, the Foundation has far surpassed the Jewish Federation in terms of annual charitable outlays. And while many of the gifts that pass through JCF go to support worthy, if non-Jewish causes, as opposed to the agency-oriented Federation fundraising and allocation process, the Foundation accurately and efficiently carries out the wishes of its many private donors.

If you are involved in the community, then there is almost no doubt a JCF-funded program has touched your life.
So as with all festive Jewish occasions, it’s fitting to take a moment to look back and thank those who went before us, paving the way. We appreciate the work they did and the values they sought to uphold, and we are confident their spirit will live on.
