Harold Stanley Grossman, age 85, of Miami, (formerly of Overland Park), died of lung cancer at home surrounded by his family on Oct. 28. He was born in Lincoln, Neb., on Nov. 3, 1922, to Celia and Nathan Grossman. He is survived by his devoted wife Candace Elias Grossman, and predeceased in 1978 by beloved wife Arlene Cooper Grossman, the mother of his children, Kay Grossman and (Jeff Roitman), Gail Ifshin and (Steve Salky) and Libah Grossman. He is also survived by his children, Spencer and (Dina Aronfeld) and Anne Leslie and (Neil Bellamy). He was the proud grandfather of Daniel and Noah Slabotsky, Jacob, Benjamin and Chloe Ifshin, Sara Rose and Nory Aronfeld and Alivia Bellamy. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and served with distinction in World War II. He fought in five campaigns and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was buried Nov. 10 at Arlington Cemetery with military honors. Community involvements included life membership in B’nai B’rith and former board member of Congregation Beth Shalom. The family suggests contributions to The David Ifshin Memorial Fund, B’nai Tzedek Synagogue, 10621 S. Glen Road, Potomac, MD 20854.
